Tom O’Connor a great emcee,
the longest running Cross-Wits host.
Of course, the British take American shows and make them more successful
than they were over here, while we take their shows and they don’t. Tom O’Connor took three successful American
shows and made successful work of them in England. I realize that the British are good at game
shows, but Tom O’Connor ranks number 3 in my book as the greatest British game
show host. Bruce Forsyth is first and
Cilla Black is second. Tom is equally
comparable to Bruce and Cilla, in every way.
Tom has some Allen Ludden and Jack Clark in him. He does things like both of them on all his
shows that I have seen. The shows that
I have seen him in are Cross-Wits and Name That Tune. He did exceptionally well, I heard on Password, but I didn’t see
it. His exceptionally well sense of
style made him one the greats.
Cross-Wits was seen on Challenge TV in reruns, and was highly successful
mainly due to this great guy.
